¶ Basic guide to connection and initial steps
This article provides a universal guide to connect any supported e-shop to the Fynode platform and tips for initial setup. It will help you avoid common mistakes from the very first step.
- Ensure you have administrator access to the e-shop and can generate API access/authentication tokens.
- Prepare the necessary data: e-shop URL, login email, password, possibly API keys (instructions on how to obtain them are in the articles about individual platforms).
- After logging into Fynode, open the menu Eshop - Settings.
- Select the platform type (e.g., WooCommerce, Shopify, Magento…).
- Enter internal name (any distinguishing name for your e-shop within Fynode).
- Fill in e-shop address (pay attention to the format according to the platform documentation).
- Depending on the platform, enter login email and password or API details (how to obtain an API key can be found in the guide for each platform).
- Click the Activate button.
- Fynode will attempt to log into the e-shop and establish a connection.
- Upon success, the system will display a message about successful linking and make further settings available.
¶ 5. Synchronization and initial imports
- After successful connection, basic data (product list, orders, categories) will be automatically imported.
- Check that imported products and orders match the data in your e-shop.
- Working with meta data allows transferring extended information that standard fields do not contain.
- Read the article: Eshop meta data settings.
- In the Fynode admin, after successful connection, you can activate plugins such as AI description generation, AI search, or AI chatbot.
- Instructions are in the guides for individual AI plugins or in the section AI & Artificial Intelligence.
¶ 8. Test the connection and set up automations
- Create a test order and product in the e-shop, check their import into Fynode.
- Try changing the order status – changes should be reflected back to the e-shop.
- If the connection fails, verify all data (URL, login details, API tokens, user permissions).
- If you cannot proceed further, contact technical support.
- Incorrect URL format (e.g., missing https or slash).
- Missing/insufficient API user permissions on the e-shop side.
- Blocked/expired API tokens.
- Hosting or platform restrictions (IP blocking, firewall, incompatible API versions).
- Follow the instructions precisely for your e-shop platform.
- After initial connection, test all main functions (loading and updating orders, updating products, stock synchronization…).
