¶ Product Matching Across Warehouses and eshops
Efficient product matching between e-shops, warehouse systems, and other channels is key to flawless synchronization of stock, prices, and orders. Fynode offers various strategies and settings to ensure clear data transfer between systems.
- The most commonly used method for own assortment with a clear catalog structure.
- The product must have the same number (SKU, internal code) in the warehouse system and all e-shops.
- Recommended for companies with unified numbering across channels.
- Ideal if the assortment mainly contains goods with a unique EAN (barcode).
- All systems must have correctly entered EAN – suitable especially for multibrand and multilanguage e-shops or for marketplaces.
- In the Warehouse section, you can select the preferred matching method.
- For multiple warehouses, you can assign stock aggregation: either based on the main warehouse or a summarized status across all warehouses.
- If you use multiple e-shops, the product menu will display options for central matching: products are synchronized based on the selected logic (product number/EAN/manual).
- For expansion into foreign markets or selling on marketplaces, we recommend standardizing SKU/EAN across the entire portfolio and using EAN as the primary matching data.
- New products or items not currently matched should be added according to the chosen logic before the first synchronization (add EAN/check SKU).
- After proper product matching, the system will automatically ensure:
- Transfer of stock movements
- Transfer of prices and availability to all connected sales channels
- In case of sudden changes in numbering or transition, it is recommended to first run bulk matching on a small sample of products.
- Duplicate products: Check the uniqueness of SKU/EAN in catalogs and warehouse.
- Missing product in warehouse or eshop: Verify if it was correctly assigned in the matching logic (and whether it is hidden/inactive).
- Incorrectly matched or merged products: Manually adjust matches in Fynode as needed.
- Aggregation of multiple warehouses: Consider whether stock sum or maximum from warehouses is ideal for your logistics; during expansion, this can affect availability on individual markets.
¶ Practical tips and recommendations
- When changing the matching logic (e.g., from SKU to EAN), it is recommended to perform a complete synchronization and test export/order from each channel.
- If you change warehouse systems, export the matching map for reconstruction in the new environment.
- Regularly check product matching logs and during export to accounting/warehouse; resolve discrepancies as soon as possible.
Proper and consistent product matching across warehouses and eshops is the foundation for flawless orders, accurate stock levels, and efficient operation of your e-commerce business.
